Yoga Bind

By Meryl Davids Landau

New summer read by IPPY-award winning mindfulness/yoga novelist

Janelle Logan has a fantastic job and a wonderful life in her adopted New York City. She especially adores her spiritual practices—yoga, meditation, and more—turbocharged by her affiliation with a world-renowned guru. Janelle is thrilled to share her beloved city and her spiritual path with a favorite cousin who visits for summer.

But Janelle’s inner peace is rocked when her guru is accused of unspeakable behavior. Janelle struggles with what that means for her life and her community of spiritually seeking girlfriends. With her cousin’s arrival, she’s also pressed to reassess her Jewish heritage.

Rather than run from her spiritual practices, Janelle doubles down, adding tapping, energy work, Jewish meditations, and even examining the nature of forgiveness itself. Will it be enough to bring her the clarity and serenity she desperately needs in this turbulent time?

About the Author

Meryl Davids Landau is the author of two prior mindfulness/yoga women’s novels, Warrior Won, winner of a prestigious Independent Publisher (IPPY) Book Award, and Downward Dog, Upward Fog, named a fiction-book-of-the-year finalist by Foreword Reviews. She is also an award-winning journalist whose work has appeared in the New York Times, National Geographic, Prevention, Self, Yoga Journal, and many other publications. Meryl is a certified yoga teacher who moderates the Yoga Folks group on Goodreads.

Foreword Reviews calls Davids Landau’s earlier works “Spiritual fiction that is both compelling and fun,” while Midwest Book Review terms it "One of the strongest spiritual women's fiction pieces.”

Davids Landau first started writing mindfulness/yoga women’s fiction because she wanted to see her own interests reflected in entertaining women’s fiction rather than solely in nonfiction. “Where are the novels for spiritually seeking women like me?” she asked herself. The response from readers to her prior books proves there is a hunger for this genre.
